Hit and miss lately with lots of elevated tides still piled up from blustery Southerly winds.  May’s transitions can have you scratching your head as one day’s success leads to the next days frustration.  It’s been lots of fun with old favorite guests and new ones here at the lodge.  Capt. Chris Cady and Capt. James Cunningham both reported tough but productive sledding by airboat with plenty of fish but they were very tight lipped and spooky.  James said he finally found some fish that would eat late in the day and that saved the trip.  Capt. James Eastep hit a homer with Bob C. and son taking Redfish limits and a handful of Black Drum on a grinder.  Capt. Donnie ran into tough sledding with Todd D. and family and ran hard trying to get on a bite but it was to no avail.  Donnie bounced back with guests of Pesado Construction taking Redfish limits and some solid Trout while wade fishing.

From topwater and soft plastics to live Croaker, wade fishing prime time is upon us.  Water temperatures are climbing and wet wading is enjoyable, come see us!

Construction Update

The Flagstone fireplace on the bayou is complete and all the road base for the parking lot has been pounded into place. It will take time for the limestone to firm up but from where we came from to where we are now is an amazing transition. It seems like a few weeks ago we were cutting trees and battling the bayou jungle. Truth is we started cutting trees in September and didn’t finish our work on the saws until January.

Since our last update, we’ve managed to acquire an additional five properties on the bayou and our stewardship affords guests plenty of leg room and relaxation. We are in the process of building our cleaning station/storage building and all systems are soon to be coming on line bringing tremendous value and utility to our guests.
