Slack winds and ultra mild “back to wearing shorts and flip flops” had the guns quieted a bit on early morning puddler shoots only to be replaced by the amber glow of hot barrels and flaming exhausts on the latest cold front. That also sent the fish deep with Capt. James Eastep working over Redfish pushing the outter edge of the slot with guests wade fishing artificial lures.
Quick Turn
Tight logistics matter as ambitious schedules have guests sampling the best of the mid-Coast with us. Last night we welcomed guests from as far away as Ft. Worth for a duck/fish combination followed by an evening of Night Vision Hog hunting. Miss Wendi is taking care of the meals for the guests starting with our hot breakfast with guests grabbing sandwiches and hitting the water for fishing. Since PM hog logistics start at 3PM, we’ll be throwing a late brunch for guests featuring her grilled Aracharra and a hot sides. The guides on the other hand are masters of the transition and nobody does it better than the Capt’s of Castaway Lodge. Be it duck/fish or goose/duck combos; Sandhill Crane; hog hunting; Teal and Alligator combinations with fishing to name a few, you can expect flawless execution and that’s something we take pride in and deliver daily.
Expanding Footprint – Campus Life, 2 Cool
With our recent acquisition of property on FM 185 here in Seadrift and adjacent to the lodge, we have expanded our footprint nearly 6 times. Over the past few months, we’ve been focusing on clearing land; cleaning up and removing unwanted trees; and laying the foundation for massive greenbelt and entertainment areas that will be the marquee backdrop among Coastal Lodge operations.
This is all leading up to the development of massive facilities focusing on affordable comfort and convenience. With our new conference/dining room seating up to 40 guests starting immediately after duck season with lodging and relaxation areas as well. With plenty of activities slated at supporting pavilions; kayak trails, awesome greenbelts and leg room with built-in Helistop and “Hover Taxi” capabilities for 3 Helicopters, we’re excited about 2016 and beyond.
Goal Posts
Count on us keeping a firm grip on costs while offering the ultimate value for everyone from family and friends to the most discriminating comptroller of any Corporation. Our anticipated roll out is aggressive and at least 50% believable which should be a minimum requirement on a goal. We’re looking for early to mid-April which may be a little rough, but such is life on both us and our vendors. Like most things these days, all it takes is a little “want to” and we’ve got a gas tank full of that.
