The last week has been a blur and just flying by with lots of great fun and fishing. We’d like to thank everyone that has come for visit and just made our first fishing season after the expansion a huge success.  Guests are loving the bayou facilities; pavilions; horseshoe pits and that big ole limestone fireplace on the burm.

Last week started out a little rocky with some rough weather on Tuesday. Not to be denied, a couple of hard grinding fishing gals braved it out and thumped the Redfish with Capt. Donnie Heath while wade fishing artificials over three days.  Kelly and her mom landed over 50 Reds during the outing and just had a blast. Check out her 5 Star Review and many others HERE.  Later last week we welcomed Todd B. and guests of Camelot Schools in for fishing and Flounder gigging and bay fishing. Capt. Donnie Heath led the charge on Flounder Gigging and managed to come up just short of limits on a walking trip with the first timers.  Capt. Braden started off the fishing trips with a solid showing on Trout with near limits working shell down South.

Coming through the weekend we welcome Robert L. with RSG in for their secone client appreciation trip of the year. It was a big hit with guests putting a whooping on solid Trout and a number of Redfish as well. Black Tip sharks have been an off and on menace and they were once again making the rounds adding a little “Troutus Interruptus” at times.  We are so happy to have longtime guests with Tracey Dean among those honored with the trip.  Tracey and I go way back and it’s so nice seeing his great business and family rewarded with us here at the lodge.  Tracey insisted that I fish Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley back in their hay day at UT when they were sophomores.  That was an absolute blast and those kids were some class guys and I became fans of theirs.  Guests of Mike’s Landscaping also came in with another client appreciation trip for fishing and flounder gigging. Mike runs a great outfit and his guests are just great folks.  They smashed the Trout with Capt. James Cunningham wade fishing area shorelines and worked up some decent numbers Flounder Gigging but it was a challenge.

Synopsis would be a little challenged right now with some quick changing wind directions associated with unsettled weather and poor tide combinations that have made things a challenge of late.  We expect this to straighten out shortly.
