Castaway Lodge Seadrift Report

Trout continue to impress between fronts with Capt. Chris Cady & Capt. James Eastep reporting limits to near limits on trips over the week. They’ve been working artificial and live shrimp over area shell concentrations and coming up with some fast action. Capt. James Cunningham reported improving numbers of birds on the bays and inland but lots of difficulty getting a gun on them in slick-off conditions. Things looked good as we welcomed guests of MW Vet Supply from all over the State mid-week taking solid straps of ducks and a few fish in building winds to 25knots. Late week found the fishing saving the day for guests from Florida in mild post front conditions.
Tides remain very elevated despite the latest cold front. This is pretty familiar territory heading into the Thanksgiving stretch. Mother Nature always seems to find a way to kick it into high gear heading for Turkey day so we’ll look for improvement on the duck hunting side of things.
