Trout have really just exploded and seeing multiple approaches come together, be it boat or wade fishing, is a sure sign of good things to come. We hit a real flat spot on Redfish but the high winds of late kicked them into gear as well with solid boxes of both Trout and Redfish hitting the boards for our guests. Capt. James Eastep had an unexpected surprise fishing with Jim Turlington and family as a big 28″ Trout made for memories of a lifetime for his daughter Ashley. The decision was made to return her to the water to make someone else’s day and that’s awesome. Come see us!
Milestones & Handicap Accessibility
No two ways about the amount of work involved bringing numerous systems online and I’ve got to take my hat off to the crew here at The Lodge. Despite shipping and mechanical issues, we managed to bring two of the new Bayou Class rooms online for guests of Dean Contracting. Tracey Dean and I go way back and we were flattered that they picked us to host an employee rewards trip ahead of a really tough schedule they’ve got coming up. Everyone had a blast and the fishing was just awesome with Capt’s. James Cunningham; Capt. Chris Cady; and, Capt. Donnie Heath hitting home runs.

Yesterday saw the last of the buildings erected as our new fish and game cleaning/storage facility was erected. It’s ready for trim out and we look for that system to come online shortly.
One of our goals in the expansion was to have an ADA Compliant room for guests with disabilities and we carried that forward to the Dining/Conference building with an ADA Compliant bathroom facility. Our designer, Chris Hassoler of Victoria has been paralyzed and in a wheel chair since his early 20’s and we appreciated his help getting this right.
