**Fishing Report – The Hunt for Red October!**

We’ve been riding way above normal tides for several weeks now. Some days it’s hard to launch a boat with all the water all the way up into the parking lot. That has had the effect of absolutely lighting the flats on fire with strong schooling activity. Our guides are reporting blistering Redfish and Black Drum action pushing deep in the back marsh over environs many times too shallow under normal conditions. What’s good for one endeavor can wreak havoc on another. Flounder gigging has turned into an unpredictable and slow grind here in what is typically a premier month for the flat fish prior to the run and season end 10/31. With so much water in the bays that is turbid and off color, visibility has been very restricted and honestly flounder gigging is a shallow water sport and there just aren’t any shallows.

Trout fishing remains strong for guests on wade fishing trips be it artificial or live bait but hasn’t been a big go to on boat fishing trips.
