Gator Season Wrap Up, Redfish & Black Drum Action Wide Open

The best Texas coastal duck hunting can be found here along the heart of the Central Flyway on the Texas mid-coast. **Fishing Report – Trout take a back seat while Redfish steal the show!**

Big winds and turbid water have put us on the flats and in the back lakes on enormous tides here lately. Water all the way up in the parking lot in many cases and that’s got the fish pushed back into areas typically inaccessible. This month is dominated by large groups of Corporate guests entertaining clients and appreciating their customers. The schedule is tight and our guides have been taking names on the water with heavy boxes of Redfish and now the Black Drum are showing up as well. With very few wade fishermen of late, boat fishing has dominated the scene and that’s had Trout hard to come by. Wade fishing is the best approach for Trout right now until winds settle and the bays clean up a bit. Big winds have been a constant theme all Summer with very few days of mild conditions exposing mid-bay structure. Sometimes I feel like Mother Nature is throwing a blanket of protection over these fish in these conditions. She will let her guard down sooner or later. When she does, we look forward to making some amazing memories with the spotted beauties.

**Lodge News – Alligator Hunting Is a Wrap**

We finished the season up strong with guests coming in from all over the State & Nation. There was no shortage of these amazing animals making folks life long dreams and “Bucket List” wishes come true. Heirloom quality leather goods crafted from Alligator hides continue to be sought after by folks far and wide. It’s never too early to get on the books for next season, come visit the Largest Wild Alligator hunting outfitter in The State of Texas wrangling them in their native and “wild” habitat.

**November/December Fishing or The Best Texas Cast & Blast**

We’ve still go plenty of dates and availability as of this writing for corporate or friends and family outings in November/December. Duck Season starts on November 2nd and runs through December 1st. It will re-open on 12/14 running through the end of January. If you’re not into duck hunting, no problem! Enjoy the cooler weather and some hammer down fishing. From boat fishing to wade fishing artificial lures, sight casting, or fly fishing, it’s just a magical time of year!
