Reds Late Feed, Wigeon Charging Early
**Fishing Report – Flats Action Continues**
Fishing has turned “time of day sensitive” among the cooling water temperatures. Capt. David Garcia said “no need to hit the water before 10am here lately”; and those sentiments have been echoed by the reel-time reports coming from Capt. Chris Cady and Capt. Justice Cunningham. Lots of fish sighted early frustrating guides with little feeding activity. Shift gears toward mid-day and the activity shifts gears with rods bending up breaking the ice cold feed earlier in the day. This has benefitted Cast & Blast guests hitting the fish mid-day after morning duck hunts.
**Duck Hunting**
Post cold front weather has dented the run of full limits with mild winds and slick off conditions. We’ve still been taking heavy straps of Gadwal, Pintail, Wigeon, and a few Teal. There’s no shortage of birds, however, and the migration here on the mid-coast builds with each cold front. Redheads that were a no show last year on the tremendous flood conditions across the Southern United States are hitting the back lakes and open bays and “they’re back”!
