**Fishing Report**

Cool conditions with rain and blustery winds have been replaced with hot, dry, and blustery winds pushing 30 knots. Welcome to May in Texas! I’ve never seen a May that wasn’t full of challenges but also big rewards! Boat fishing for Trout has pretty much been limited since big water venues are shut down and torn up. However, on the wade fishing scene, Trout have been predictable for guests working live bait over sand/grass. Capt. Chris Cady; Capt. James Cunningham; and Capt. Braden Proctor have all been reporting solid Trout and decent numbers.

Boat fishing guides continue to pursue solid Redfish action ranging from barrier island back lakes to brackish upper Delta inflow marsh. The brackish backwaters are almost an eco-tour all by themselves as alligator and freshwater fin and fowl mix in. Guides reported lots of run ins with Alligator Gar while pulling Redfish out of the mix as well. Those toothy fish are something else and lots of fun to catch.

We’ll be looking to break out of this elevated wind pattern as June draws near and returning to more traditional light winds early before ramping up into the mid-teens mid-day.
